this would 100% happen. VR first, then 4-5 years later i could see robot catgirls*. power storage would still be an issue since lithium-ion's density is crap.

*that all being said i don't think we're anywhere near close to "AGI", a lot of it is hype pushed by silicon valley, to boost stock prices. besides, most AI services are SaaS garbage, none of it runs locally and the stuff that does is rudimentary at best and is capped by consumer hardware. even if someone did achieve it, they would still run into the hardware problem.
