This is our generations beanie babies. My mom used to buy them, and it was pretty fun driving around with her looking for rare ones when I was really young. We actually had a beanie baby book that was published in 1996 that had pricings listed for them all, and they even had speculations on the price in ten years. So even common, everyday beanie babies would be $5 in 1996, then said in 2006 they would be worth $25. lol.
I just went and looked up some of the real old vintage ones and they seem to have held up. (Worth hundreds of dollars, not the thousands it was predicted to be in 2006 lol). You can buy 10x beanie babies for $20 on ebay.
Kind of weird to look at that aspect of my childhood, looks like a coming of age garage sale where your parents sell all of your shit.
