I'm a fucking retard that would like to buy some Portuguese bonds, can you guys please help me figure this shit out.

Take this for example: https://www.big.pt/OndeInvestir/Obrigacoes/Info/PTOTEAOE0021

Why do bond prices go up and down? I thought bonds worked almost like loans, I'd buy 20k in bonds (loan 20k) and get a yearly return of 4,95% in this case and when the expiration date was over I'd just get the whole amount. Is it possible for me to get a lower return amount back at the expiration date if the price of the bond is lower than what I bought it for?

Also, again, taking this bond as an example, assuming I bought today, would I still get the full coupon rate on the date of the next coupon?

Like I said, I'm a fucking retard when it comes to this so I apologize for the stupid questions.
