But they won't necessarily use the Chainlink network.

Look at this post from 7 days ago. They go into more detail about Trusted Execution Environments than anything else:
> Like Proof of Work but consumes much less electricity. Instead of participants solving “cryptographic puzzles”, the algorithm uses a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) to ensure blocks get produced in random lottery order, but without requiring any work.

Because they're partnered with Ic3, and Town Crier is their project, it's really obvious that Microsoft with be using Town Crier for their Enterprise Smart Contracts.

However, although the chainlink network will include Town Crier, it is possible to execute Town Crier without the chainlink network.
http://www.town-crier.org/get-started.html
>SmartContract.com's TC-backed-oracle creation tool is a nice, easy way to get started with Town Crier in just a few minutes. Today, this tool is only available for cryptocurrency prices
>Interfacing directly with Town Crier requires a little more work, but is also straightforward, and gives access to all of TC's currently supported set of data types.

Part of me thinks that if they wanted to interface with TC directly, they would have already done so and it would be launched?
But since it's not launched yet, it makes me think they're waiting for the LINK implementation to be ready.

Thoughts?
Just how connected are Town Crier and Chainlink? Is Town Crier improved by being part of Chainlink, or is the chainlink network unnecessary for implementing town crier?
