That was oil. And yes that's why I say I believe it's possible for natty gas too.

No you don't understand. I mean buy the futes directly, or some ETF that tracks them. The companies are probably fucked no matter what and probably won't recover that much on a natgas spike anyways.

he said he wants to escape wageslaving. he will still have to wageslave. I suppose you have a narrow point that he would have less to fear from an extreme black swan event than he would with $15k.

Finally a somewhat valid answer. This will be easier to do with $150k. I suppose it could make the difference between the tradies/codemonkey meme, and the degree/""software engineer"" meme.

BUT. Is this an acceptable risk to take, when the tradies/codemonkey meme is maybe achievable with $15k? Would it not be preferable to try something new right away, possibly at a non-formal level, than to RISK that his life remains the same for another 3 years for the possibility of enough $$$ for big leagues formal training when it's not clear he knows what else he wants to do?

I am not saying nobody could make big moves with $150k. I am saying this particular anon, does not appear to have any solid plan for what he would do with a non "make it"/100% NEET amount of money and if he did, he could at least start down that path with $15k. Therefore, I stand by my point that as things stand, $150k is unlikely to change this anon's life in a way $15k could not.
