This is close to how I read the outcome of this case.

We don't know though if maybe the lawyer came up with the whole 'disinvited from conferences' thing and craig went along with it.

Also judges are assholes. I know a litigant in a case where the appellate judge wrote in the decision that he thought my friend was lying. I knew all the facts of the case first hand, and I know he was telling the truth, 100%. My friend, the litigant, was starting to get a reputation due to filing two lawsuits within 3 years. The problem was he was constantly talking about filing lawsuits in a smallish community. People don't like that.

Judges tend to have a lot of upper middle class and rich friends. These are the type of people that are very afraid of lawsuits, so if you get a reputation as a vexatious litigant, then they will just pile on, and call you a liar even if your cases have merit. I think that may be the case here.

The final take-away for me is:

1) The judge doesn't like Craig Wright
2) In spite of the above the judge still ruled that Craig is Satoshi
3) The judge still ruled that Craig was defamed.
