my favorite pass time is to just go for a drive into the middle of nowhere, park somewhere along a road next to a stream and just start following it up. I ll pan as I go, checking feeders as I go, and if I find gold, I mark it down in one of my dozens of note books than draw up a quick little sketch. I ve been found sitting next to a creek not realizing I ve been there for hours just listening to the world go by.

Its so much better digging gold yourself than buying it. Sure it can be brutal work but its worth it when you get on a good pay streak.

spent the day hiking around above historic Barkerville today, I brought a copy of the famous Bowman maps with me and went looking for hotspots the old boys gave up early on. Found gold, amazing weather, thats all I ask for.
