I've got records of the amount of income I earned in USD by month. Then they use the average BTC price by month to determine how much I received in BTC, then when I sold a big chunk for CAD they figured out the difference and that was capital gains, the cost base in USD converted to CAD was income. I think I got that right...but I stopped accumulating and my current stack will all be capital gains when I sell. Now I just sell the BTC as it come in every month.
