I've been where you are OP; the A+ doesn't mean shit without experience, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The only way to make it in IT is to have experience, I know it's a shitty paradox; I probably applied at more than 500 jobs, interviewed at maybe 5, before I got one that paid what I needed (and that wasn't a lot). Your first IT job will suck dick too. I worked in a Data Center and worked the shittiest hours imaginable with no sign of promotion on the horizon; I used every second of downtime I had to study for better shit (in my case InfoSec) then got the fuck out to a information security job. Now it's great, I'm remote 4/5 of the time and already moving up because I was severely undervalued at my first job.
