the saying "better time in the market than timing the market" only applies to people that don't pay attention, those that just want to put money in and have more money in 10 years

but if you're one of those that want to pay attention you can make a lot more by selling when you're "enough" green in one stock and then buy two other stocks that recently dropped and that you believe will recover.

maybe i didn't really answer your question but investing without paying attention seems like a bad idea in the current market.
