I was gonna say this is genius but then I realized that even a huge ring is like 8-9 grams tops and at 10k thats less than 3.5g of gold and at current price of ~$57/g thats just about $200 so at 2% under spot you save... $4 maybe $8-$10 if you compare to paying a 2-3% premium. Now compare that to the cost and time of driving to the local pawn shop, browsing the wares, haggling, etc...
And remember this is a BEST case scenario, I think you are better off just working more and buying gold online from the convince of your home.
