Probably same here, haven't opened my portfolio in weeks, I only check it when price go up. 2018 year was the hardest hold for me - we had all the knowledge yet no solid timeframe. If Link stays over $10 it's super comfy, I feel start feeling bad if we go under $4 but there is no point in selling that low.
TLDR: not selling

So let’s say the singularity is real and Link shoots up to $100 minimum. Mass media coverage will follow and normie FOMO will drive the price up even higher. Do you really think the SEC will just ignore this? They will do everything they can to regulate LINK trading and definitely classify it a security. The “no hype” approach because “we don’t want Link to be a security” is bs and the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

>It's funny how people expect to chainli k magically go to 1000
>Man we wi be laughing our ass of EOY

EOY is 4 months away. If it really did reach $1000 EOY it would be nothing short of magical

Even $10 LINK would be out of this world

.... this is what I mean: I just unironically typed out "Even $10 LINK" before checking myself - as if 30x+ gains is guaranteed. The absolute certainty of everyone on here is infectious and before you know it you're typing stuff like that. There is so much stuff that could go wrong. How do we know this is not just a big echo chamber? What if Swift didn't take the POC further? What if all the mentions of stuff that sound like LINK aren't actually LINK? What if the team can't pull off one of any number of things they need to pull off - e.g. aggregation? What if businesses don't actually care if their oracles are decentralized or not?

Honestly, $10 LINK would be an absolute fucking miracle and the single luckiest thing that's ever happened to me. And good things like this don't happen to people like me

It doesn't even matter if market protocol is big. What's important is that all these projects are using link. It's going to become the default solution for off chain data. When some new project is looking for an oracle, what will they see everyone using? Chainlink. This is how adoption starts. It doesn't even have to be a crypto project, any smart contract writer can look and see others using this. How many confirmed users do they have now? People have been waiting for something like link.

I hate those delphi memes. They're all the same. Probably all made by the same guy too. Good news though, actual use coming through. Soon enough you'll be able to have instant fiat to crypto transactions and back, straight from your bank account.

And btw, I know a 7% chance of LINK overcoming all those hurdles makes it a fantastic investment. A 7% chance of 100x return is a phenomenal bet. That's why I hold LINK in the first place.

My point though is that LINK going to the moon is far from certain. It's so dumb to FUD this token when as OP says speculation might be the only way this token actually increases in value.

Stop acting like the success of LINK is certain

ah right, sorry

I didn't read your OP closely and interpreted you to be bringing up a cost issue. Reading it again you're saying aggregating these responses on chain is a bandwidth bottleneck - i.e. the ethereum network is too slow to deal with all these commit/reveal requests - is that correct?

My response to that would be that if chainlink is so wildly popular that it creates a bottleneck in the ethereum network you'll have bigger things to worry about - like what color lambo you want lol

>But 2-3 years with a $10-$20 is what most people think.
This is such a middle-of-the-road sort of answer. Even with all tokens in circulation and the upper estimate ($20) this would still make LINK lower market cap than ripple and Ethereum

I see LINK as all or nothing. Either it becomes the go-to market leader oracle (like Ethereum is the go-to smart contracts/general dapp platform) or it doesn't. If it does then its market cap will be at least Ethereum's current market cap which would be like $60 per LINK with all tokens in circulation.

There's no (serious) competition in this space. And anyone who lurks these threads knows (with as much certainty as is possible without having it actually confirmed by the partners themselves) that LINK is in deep with the likes of DocuSign and Swift.

You can't jump half way over a chasm.

The possible scenarios as I see it are:
- Either the team somehow fucks up the product itself (unlikely) and the price stays in the $0.00 to $1 range for eternity
- Some competitor manages to leap-frog the years of research, networking and development that have gone into LINK to usurp its position and the price stays in the $0.00 to $1 range for eternity
- Successful main net launch and go-to oracle market leader, tentative testing by real world businesses increasing to mass adoption and the price goes $100+

The only scenario I envisage it hovering around $10-$20 is if it gets big on leddit or whatever and speculation pushes the price up in anticipation of main net. The point is if this thing works it's worth $100+. If it doesn't then it'll stay at the current price levels or any price increases will be purely speculative
