this is the image that made me want to be all in LINK, if you can't look at that and tell me why it could be a good investment, then no one can fucking help you.

Why is the price still so low? Can't believe I fell for the singularity meme bullshit it's clearly not going to happen, it really looks like a slow painful climb to 2-3€ by summer 2020. Would it be better to invest in BTC/Eth? Like realistically if the emotional attachment to link and membership of the cult could be broken?

When the Chainlink network goes live, everything changes. No more token trading and waiting on promises from every project. It becomes real. It's a business. Your node, if you stake, will be delivering imported data, to smart contracts, for real life customers, businesses, enterprise.

We will be part of it. A new paradigm of data, digital agreements, and secure distributed ledger delivery. The first real connection to reality from blockchain to business, and an enabler for any other blockchain project, large or small.

Enjoy the ride anons. It becomes real very soon.

smart contracts are self executing agreements stored on a blockchain
smart contracts can be used to automate a ton of shit ranging from insurance to bond payments to all sorts of stuff I can't even think of right now
smart contracts need data from outside the blockchain to be useful - e.g. a flight insurance contract needs flight times information to know if it needs to pay out or not
LINK is a decentralized network for providing this sort of information to blockchains (and there are a ton of usecases, very high value ones, a huge range of usecases)
There are other ways of getting data on to blockchains but decentralized is best. As mentioned, smart contracts are self executing, so if the data feed is wrong the wrong person will get paid. A decentralized approach reduces the risk of/eliminates this problem
There are a ton of credible links between LINK and major players in several industries. Even if, e.g. the Swift connection, doesn't turn out to be what people think, there are tons more such connections

There's so much more I could say, like how the Town Crier (recently acquired by chainlink) could mitigate some of the scaling issues blockchains face by doing computations off-chain

If you've been on /biz/ for a while and it still hasn't clicked for you, it probably never will

then fuck em. they had a whole year, all they had to do was take one look at the old website to see they werent fucking around, i never graduated and got my GED and even a total fucking brainlet such as myself was able to see that Chainlink was on to a bigger picture just from their logo on their site. if other people can't see whats going on I just feel sorry that theres nothing we can do to make them see whats really happening.

The oracle problem is the biggest or one of the biggest issues facing crypto.

Why is it such an esoteric topic?
This is established fact. I find it extremely strange that it remains such an obscure topic.

Private chains are an industry stepping stone to public chains, just like private corporate intranets gave way to the internet. Think of private chains like a "trust incubator" where big firms can dip their toes in the water. They'll fomo into public chains once they see the gains that smaller fintech players will inevitably make on them. The private chain fud is laughable, it's the same narrow field of vision shit that lead to people getting blind sided by the internet and it's fucking hilarious that we'll get to see it happen again. This time with a whole new generation of boomers saying "there was no way to see this coming"

You didn't forget that even has the bitcoin blockchain in the graphic as one of the chains it will connect to??

Hello fellow Marines, especially those autistic ones who have been researching ChainLink for the year or so it's been since the ICO. I come to you with an idea: Why would we not push smart contract adoption that utilizes decentralized oracles in the real world while making money in the process, through consulting actual companies with this stuff, teaching them how they can automate their businesses with smart contracts and weave in ChainLink to every single one of these use cases, adding demand for our nodes and the LINK token?

For my own background, I currently work in the blockchain space in marketing and business development and live in one of the financial capitals of Europe, so you technical guys would have a link to the business side through me. I have decent creds in this area and I'm pretty certain I could get meetings with some ok sized companies to explore how they could integrate smart contracts (and ChainLink) to their practices. I've also been a 100k+ LINK holder since the ICO and have read most of the research posted here.

The problem I would have in pursuing this alone is that while I know I could sell the shit out of smart contracts and using decentralized oracles for them, that is where it ends for me since honestly I'm just a biz dev, marketing and "ideas" guy that has enough a resume to have these people listen to me. Writing technical papers and creating actual executable plans for the integration I'd need help with.

Now I made this thread to see if any of the good people in the ChainLink Research Group would be interested in joining a discord group a bit like Delphi, except instead of island holidays where we jerk each other off and talk about Plato, we'd be in the trenches actually doing work for good money making the Singularity happen one adoption case at a time. I'm sure there are some NEET Marines who know more about ChainLink than AB at this point and wouldn't mind monetizing that knowledge while we wait for the Singularity?
