I rent an apartment in the same place i bought....I pay $850 for rent for a furnished 1 bdrm right by a lake in a major tourist city...The one I own, I rent for $1400...I paid 190K in Jul and it is now worth over 300K.....They are also building 2, 6 storey developments across the street and making the lake front a major tourism hub...Am I winning? I feel way better about the decision that what my ex recommended which was buying a house, stretching myself thing and renting out rooms...
