Theres a screencap out there about 4chan in general, somthing about being compared to Enkidu of sumarian legend. Basically we're the outliers of the mainstream and the normal and as such we're the "wild" ones, the unpredictables, the ones who cant be tamed or actions be predicted. its a good read, if anyone has it post it please.

In this particular case, reddit's super power is getting a lot of likeminded individuals on the same page, especially against a "common" enemy. Reddit loves to virtue-flex and will do so gladly whenever given the opportunity. In this case, the fact they can virtue-flex while also earning themselves a fuck ton of money is the nail in the hedgies coffin. They get to be the "good guys" in their mind while also get a fuck ton of money while doing it.

This battle against wall-street is textbook storybook format. There is a clear villian, with a clear-proven track record of being doing bad, evil and greedy things. Then there are the hero's, coming from humble backgrounds of squalor and poverty to defeat the villians at their own game with nothing but pure grit and perseverance. IMO the hedgies biggest mistake is they have continuously played into the evil role in attempt to dissuade, and its done nothing but iron out the resolve of reddit and pretty much everyone that holds.

This whole thing is such a wonderful tale of hubris
