I've been experimenting for a while, but only started doing it regularly about a months ago, mainly in my IRA. Its up 20% in that time. I am focusing on stocks that have earnings that week to capture the highest premiums, but I've occasionally held for a week longer to either sell an additional week ahead or to recover if it dumps. Theoretically, its possible to get 2% per week pretty easily, though you have to research and watch carefully.
The only play I lost on was PLAY which had a massive run up that I bought too late and it tanked more than expected. HPE and HPQ I broke even on when they had an astounding -12%. Everything else has been very good like DKNG, JWN, AAL, SWBI and KR. Earnings season is closing so theres a lot fewer options, I might just buy something to do a month long covered call to take a break.
