because it cost ~$2 per call, and a dex lets say for example would make thousands of calls a day, which was already kind of expensive, but worth it for the security chainlink offers
because of eth not being able to scale though, that $2 per call has become $2 + ~$80 (tx fee) because of high gas prices
obviously these companies aren't willing to pay this amount for single call, so sergey has to sell LINK for $ to cover the tx fee of all the calls until they can find a solution to fix this
is it fraudulent? maybe, idk. idc either. still making money off of the hype.
