the stores ARE profitable. Heck even Toys R Us in Canada is still alive because the stores themselves were very much profitable but the corporate was just ass retarded and took down everything with them.
Microsoft and Nintendo are both treating Gamestop well because Toys R Us set out the example that Gamestop is very much still relevant for sales in North America

dunno what Sony is doing, I don't think a revenue sharing agreement is happening. It was very evident with the amount of PS5s and Xbox X's each Gamestop had. Only 2 PS5s minimum per store, but at least double the amount of Xbox X or something per store apparently. No preferential treatment for Gamestop by Sony, and time will tell if that will help Microsoft dominate North America more as the underdog
