I was a kid when it happened and never really read up on it since, only having a vague understanding of it, especially since not even American and once when I asked my parents about it they said nothing really changed for them during the time (lower-middle class). How the fuck was this shit even real? And people didn't go apeshit? I can't imagine if something like it happened again that the US wouldn't just straight up collapse and everything getting burned to the ground by the plebs.
