Dollar cost averaging. You set aside a monthly amount you're going to invest into stocks, or gold, or silver, and you spend that much each month or quarter or whatever. Say you set aside $800 each monthly paycheck. That 800 is ear marked for PMs, with say, 500 for gold and 300 for silver.

Some months this gets you a lot of metal, some months less, but it forces you to keep doing some buy in, and takes a lot of the guesswork out of investing.
