I don't remember seeing a tray like that in the Royal Danish pattern before, plenty of the flatware is out there but I'd imagine the tray is a pretty scarce piece. It's a nice chunk of silver and a very patrician addition to your tableware collection, good work anon!

>It's basically this. Same hallmark and patent number. No personalized etching or engraving

Thanks for sharing fren, there's much to be said for the simple minimalist elegance of such pieces. They may not grab one's attention while juxtaposed with ostentatious Victorian items bursting with complex and busy but ultimately meaningless florid scrollwork, but in-hand the total unpretentious honesty of unadorned silver is extremely appealing. Those pieces where it is purely the rich warm luster of the sterling itself which command's one's attention are severely underrated. I have a ~10oz capacity tumbler cup of the same simple style which I like using (it's the cup holding a bunch of silverware at the front right on top of the platter here). Weighs around 140g so it's quite sturdy for its size. I definitely recommend getting and using additional pieces like these, keep it up and good luck at your next estate sales anon!

>Oh here is my silver, *lights the candelabra*
>You know, you can eat with it. You can pour a drink from it. Turn it into a box, and put your silver coins in it

My nigga, sounds like you're just a few steps away from taking the sterling-pill and becoming an enlightened cheapie-stacking scrapchad.

Be aware that coin shops will probably only pay 60-80% of spot price for your scrap. I have only ever used 1 refinery so you may get better rates elsewhere but mine will pay 92% of spot price for the silver content of batches larger than 100oz. Basic rule is to pay as little as you can get away with, and never pay more than you can easily get back by selling the good stuff individually online or in bulk as scrap. Time isn't free so I shoot for a $10/ozt asw average but you may want to start with a 50-60% of spot price target.

You can get sterling goblets in nice shape off eBay for around melt value every day, I'd advise against paying a premium unless you're investing in 200+ year old Georgian goblets or the like.

Happy to help expand your horizons fren, if you find and buy any be sure to share pics! Because they're almost spherical you really feel the weight/density of the silver, bullet coins are super cool.

>just silverware and ugly goblets again?

Imagine claiming to be a stacker but not drinking and dining with one's collection of utilitarian fine silver, kek.

90% eBay, the rest estate sales, thrift stores, IRL auctions and the like. Aside from monitoring and routinely refreshing newly listed BIN items priced way too cheap by noobs (which I don't do anymore), the trick to mining eBay for cheapies is reliably and efficiently finding batches listed poorly or incorrectly that normie scrappers and old lady collectors overlook or won't easily find. I don't know how many times I've bought things titled "Silverplate" that were actually good hallmarked solid sterling upon reviewing the pictures. If you don't have a good eye and hands-on experience with scrap already then it probably isn't worth your time, but when you know what you're doing it is a rewarding way to stack. Try your luck monitoring www.estatesales.net for promising IRL sales, I got around 3 kilos of sterling at estate sales last year for about $250 total, definitely cheaper than the average cost on eBay but not as regular of a source for me in my area.

Hell yeah man I'm looking forward to it, your antique .950 is primo silver, it mogs the hell out of most of the more lightweight lower-purity silverware out there.

>I think it was march of 2020 spot price dropped to $12, and within 2 hours everything was out of stock
I pounced the morning it bottomed, got kilos for $14.78/oz and some generic rounds at about $15.50/oz. I'm sure even better deals were had but they didn't last long at all.
>You can bet a lot of places put in new safeties in the advent of a sudden drop again
100%, it won't happen again.

>If you don’t jump through a million hoops and doxx yourself for a seething retard who's remained willfully blind to all prior proofs and never even posted evidence of the ASE's allegedly bought cheap 3 years ago you are 100% lying.

Topkek, classy as always eggnigger. I could post the clearest proofs possible for an imageboard and you'd just cope and say they're shopped or the excel files are fabricated. If you can't look at the few recent eBay wins I posted and run the basic calculations then you're beyond hope, there's no getting through to irrational insecure manlets like you.

>one cool thing about collecting this stuff, is now you have nice cups, spoons, forks, etc.

Pewter is nice and I'll keep a few pieces but most is just for melting into kilo bars. My acquisitive autism is placated by having more than just PMs to hunt for. For cups and tableware though I will suffer nothing less than sterling silver.
