yea muckers are extremely dangerous. The mine i was working in is trackless but they still teach how to operate gear like that. Their not called muckers by most of the old timers i work around, their "widow makers" or "hand takers" because of how easy it is to fuck up using them. Fear the muck machine, its a dam death trap.

pic above is a "Mucker" or "Muck Machine" here, though loaders are called all sorts of things, LHD / Scoop Tramer is another.

Muck machines like this mainly get called widow makers now because of all the green guys that they kill or maim.

Scoop trams are fun machines to run, you sit sideways on it and the seat rotates so you can drive backwards and forwards quickly. I loved working on them and the low slung haul trucks too. The only piece of underground gear I fear to run is the "Mucker" or "muck Machine". These things are insanely dangerous, there are a dozen ways it can kill you and almost all my work mates underground had missing fingers because of them.
