i've lived through a collapse of the ussr, a hyperinflation and a few severe inflations that followed (just a few years ago ruble lost 50% of its purchasing power pretty much overnight - all your real estate costs the same amount of rubles, so real estate is not a safe haven, many people on biz fail to grasp that)
