I'd rather neither of those things happened. Fact of the matter is this country is in such a bad shape because of immigration and the cost it incurs. Their countries inability to provide a good life for their citizens shouldn't mean they come here and prevent our citizens from living good lives. I'm not sure what part of the country you live in that allows you to have a sympathetic attitude to them, but I live in 35% white Somali dominated hellhole.

Trash is barely collected once a week and there is rotten food and dirty diapers strewn out all over the streets. Medical services are broken and I have minor issues that have persisted for over a year because I'm completely unable to get proper medical treatment. It's not safe to go out at night because there are gangs of African children robbing and stabbing everyone and white crackhead gangs bugging people for spare change. Both of my cousins are currently having to home school because they were bullied out of their majority brown schools by immigrant children. The taxes you hate paying so much are what enables this.
