I have an idea for an online business that sources a product from China and ships it to buyers in the United States.

What does it entail to create a web-store capable of handling online purchases? What is the best way for someone who doesn't know what they are doing to accomplish this? How much would it cost?

For easier startup, I am thinking of something between the convenience of ebay and the complete control of my own site. Does such a system exist?
