yes, just split it between SPY, DIA, QQQ, IWD (or just SPY and DIA)
youll do better than most "traders" by just dollar cost averaging into those 4 (or 2) ETF's over time

calls and spreads are fancy forms of gambling
LSD to help you pick good dividend companies to invest in instead

then get your degenerate gambling fix from dollar cost averaging (and/or play with the falling knife) between exdiv dates if you really must

not if youre a true investor

shorts have no patience, but investors are happy with slow and steady upward growth

position trading is bad for getting your gambling fix though

also its terrible when you have a huge red day and nothing else to occupy yourself with

but it is truly the best way to go long term, no doubt about that

I started with only $60 in my account to take the plunge, i was negative for a few months, but when I added another $400 to my account I instantly went positive, and have been positive ever since

if youre using robinhood theres no reason not to use a tiny bit of cash first, its not like there are comission fees that will bleed you dry

that being said, for less than $60 you limit yourself to cheap stocks, which can be a good learning experience, but they will be a worse investment thant more expensive blue chip stocks 9/10 times

just buy one or two shares of a meme penny stock, and watch what happens to it after a few days, and go from there

holding and selling is a completely different game when you have money invested, compared to paper money

>>save up a good amount of cash first
a good amount is just however much you are willing to lose, like skip lunch one day and stick to $5 only at first? or skip that $1000 trip to the casino, and use it to get started in the stock market

no one's recomended "good" amount will be the same as your "good" amount, only you can know that

also some people say to paper trade at first, but you react drastically differently when its your money on the line instead of imaginary money, so I'd recomend you get your feet wet sooner than later
