Heard about it on 4chan after btc broke the prior ATH of ~30 bucks in March 2013. Watched the entire April rally and crash and bought in with my tax return that year. Didn't start selling till mid 2017

One of the devs is a guy in my close-knit telegram group and they all told us to get in. Realistically it had nothing to do with picking a winner, pretty much every alt went up a crazy amount from early 2017 to late 2017, but I still made like 4.5 btc profit on a 0.25 btc buy-in
