The greatest coin ever minted. You can disagree, but you would be wrong.

I bet it was a sov or other euro coin. Who cares? Now if it was some pre-33 US gold, that is something to be upset about.

Maples were a good alternative to Eagles after the eagle premiums exploded. But a lot of people switched to maples and then you saw their premiums rise as well. Put another way, Eagles are so popular and in demand, they dragged up maple premiums. Honestly, you’re better off with krugs, Brits, or Roos over maples at this point. But really, any coin is better than cheap generic rounds. There is absolutely no reason to buy 1 oz rounds when the lower premium coins are only marginally more expensive. If you want to save money on premiums, buy 10oz+ bars. That’s where you see the real savings.

Bro. No one is buying ASEs because $1 is stamped on it. People buy them because they are the most recognizable and liquid coin especially in the US. You can get well over spot for an Eagle EASILY if you ever need to sell. Counterfeits are easy detected by the naked eye. No weighing, measuring, pinging, acid tests, magnets needed. No decent fake has been made that can’t be identified with the eye. They are a great investment especially with the recent rise in premiums. A monster box that was purchased 2 years ago is now worth thousands more than the equivalent of 500 oz of cheap generic. When silver picks up steam again, These premiums will skyrocket again. Anyone with substantial wealth will be buying eagle monster boxes when the collapse of the dollar become more obvious. They won’t be buying silvertowne buffalos. The strain of the demand and lack of supply from the US mint will be incredible. We already seen supply issues from the Mint during Covid. Eagle premiums will be so massive that it will drag up the premiums of maples (already happened with the first rise in eagle premiums during Covid), and other coins and even generic rounds.

This is wrong. The majority of your stack should be coins with 10oz+ bars mixed in to bring down your cost average. 1 oz rounds are a stupid buy when you can get krugs, Brits, or Roos for marginally more. Unless there is an incredible deal/sale, your shouldn’t buy rounds. Large Bars are where you see the real savings on premiums. Your silver stack should be 50% coins, 40% bars, 10% rounds or something similar. Anyone who tells you to “stack weight” or “silver is silver” is probably a salesman trying to unload silvertowne buffalos.

Sovs do get shilled hard here. Because they are low premium coins. But people should realize they are low premium for a reason. They aren’t a “hidden gem” of a coin either. Stacking strategies are pretty poor around here. I used to give stacking advice but I’ve given up. Hopefully someone has seen my old posts and used that good advice.

I prefer pre-33 US gold. Makes your sovereigns and francs look like shit.
