While I'd love to be wrong, it's a niche fps sub-genre so you'll probably never see another company devote a big budget to a planetside-style game. BF is about as close as it gets, although ofc DICE is super ultra mega gay.

It'd be neat for someone to take a proper crack at it tho, assuming they actually understood how to fix the issues of 1 and 2. Even with it's many many problems, PS2 was crack for me for a long-ass time and nothing else quite does it.
