I'm a test tech engineer
Partially technician, partially initializing shit for remote engineers to work on.
During the pandemic they had us split into teams so we could learn our roles. 3 day wfh 2 days face to face. The wfh days were all meetings, onboarding and plain nonsense from the boomers just checking in on all the new hires.
They kept hiring new hires because all these old fucks were past retirement age and were about to take 40~55 years on knowledge between all of them.
So now there are 3 people in my role alone that take on small coding projects here and there when we feel like it.
The f2f work is essentially swapping out CPU's

Boomers setup fancy Cisco conference room. Constantly beg everyone to come to the conference rooms for meetings. These same meetings are held with WFH and other regional offices. Most people sit in on their meeting from office
