anon .. WHO said that? who made that claim? how can you be so sure that their claim is actually true? OK fine, yes you did buy a little high, but for reasons I cannot articulate I think the PLTR share price will a healthy amount more in the future than what it is now.

hell I bought at 11 and sold some covered calls WAY out at 20 and those got chewed up and I bought back in at 21. just listen to me, and hold.

OP you need to fuck off. I'm the same age as you, around the same net worth, and I'm very happy with where I'm at. We are well outside the bell curve, and are way more well of than others. Get off here and get off social media, assuming you keep comparing yourself to all these other vocal minorities who have millions of dollars worth in LINK. go read some Plato or some shit too if you haven't

Are you saying trading is immoral? If so, what makes trading immoral? I can't argue with you that capitalism itself is or isn't immoral - in fact I don't think any of us can ("well it raises the standard of living in dirt poor countries"; "yes but look at the incredibly bad distribution of wealth!"). But what's wrong with trading?

I'm new to the game but what are some general / typical strategies around earnings? Something like "Well I think Boeing is going to report shit earnings, so I'll buy some puts before the earnings report and close them post earnings report"

fellas I am new to options. I've spend a solid week reading on investopedia and watching all these damn youtubers. I have made a few moves using Thinkorswims simulation feature in order to back test some things (e.g. RSI > 70% is a sell signal, <30% is a buy signal, Moving Averages imply XYZ, MACD implies ABC, etc)

Can we have a rational discussion regarding options strategies? Do you guys trade them intra-day? Trade a few weeks out? How do you determine if the stock is going to go up or down...or do you use things like strangles and not care? Is technical analysis worth a damn?

I made about $180 today on a $SPY put (which I bought for about $800) that I purchased in the morning. I truthfully didn't know if $SPY was going to go up or down today, but as it crabbed slightly down, I sold the put. I was looking at the price of $SPY all fucking day. "Do I sell? Do I hold onto tomorrow? What do I do?" It was mildy never-wracking. If I can make $180/day doing this shit then I am sold...but I'm sure there are instances where I will time something wrong/be incorrect about direction/etc.
