going cash gang means you need to time the market price:
1. when selling your positions - if you sell to early, it won't matter when you buy back because you already have opportunity cost
2. When buying back, if you wait too long, you will get outpriced. Pic related. In 2022 people were expecting the market to go much lower. Those who didn't buy shares at that time lost money.
Same happened in 2020. People expected market to tank even deeper, not knowing about Fed intervention. In theory it's simple "just sell at the top and buy when it hits bottom". But in practice you don't know when the bottom is, and I've seen many examples of people getting rekt by that over the years.
