I hedge with TMF so probably "forever" as in 10 years before TMF begins being composed of garbage bonds from the GCF. Rebalancing TQQQ gains into TMF and TMF gains into gold and gold miners. This will accelerate if money velocity starts increasing.
You can do nearly the same thing with FNGU and SOXL. They track TQQQ almost exactly with a little more swinginess. The real optimal play is probably 90-100% TQQQ or SOXL or FNGU, recovering principal, and then scalping returns over time into gold and gold miners.
