Honestly if you can spare 500-1000 bucks that should be enough to kick start a small account.
For example with SPX options,
If you sell credit spreads for 5 points wide, and kick it out to a month or so, you can collect a credit if the direction of the spread is proven correct.
IF however, you don't want to pick a direction then sell a Put Condor, sure the premium won't be great but if it's 15-30 days out on an index it's more likely to go your way than not.
