What is a 'standard' 40 year old? How do you know your dad's "rate of aging" isn't a variable that changes over time? If your dad ages slower than a 50 year old, does that mean the 50 year old is really like a 60 year old?

And why would we only notice this now? There are scores of people who receive regular blood transfusions for various diseases. Do they age any slower? Why not? If so, why didn't anyone care?

This is a long conversation, but I would recommend reading up on r/K selection theory. In short, we're exiting a period of relative abundance and entering into a period of relative scarcity. Things we have in abundance:
>Food
>Pussy
>Drugs
>Entertainment
An overabundance of this in any species creates a situation where zero investment is put into offspring. There's little to no tribal affiliation. Everyone just eats and fucks, no thought given past the next meal and no memory of the previous one. Silliness is tolerated because it doesn't actually threaten anything.
These things will start drying up, first gradually and then rapidly. At that point, you'll see a few things change:

That's more or less "the plan." The current system is going to collapse under its own weight. The serious people will survive. The clown people will resort to literal cannibalism and kill themselves.

Things that rise tend to continue rise. Look at any chart from any time and you'll find that's true.

I know at least a dozen people who are making purchases today with crypto. There's numerous websites where crypto is a medium of exchange. There are numerous shops and businesses in my area that accept crypto as a form of payment. In other words it is already an accepted medium of exchange. None of them would ever accept gold because they have no means of accepting it. Is it dumb? Yes. That doesn't mean it isn't happening. This is Clown World and you are far too serious.

And I want to be clear you should be stacking precious metal. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be ready to use other forms of exchange if that becomes the accepted medium.
