feels good brehs. Reminder to never ever work in retail. Especially if you live in an area with R*ssians. They are all subhuman chimps and Hitler was right to try and wipe them out.

Programming thread?

I've been practicing web design and development 20 hours a week for 6 months now. I've gotten fluid with CSS, Jquery, MySQL, and PHP.

I want to break into the industry. I was thinking going to small business owners and offering to revamp their sites for cheap or free. Is this a good route?

Also, anyone here in the programming industry, especially web design/development, all advice, stories, and humor welcome.

What's the best way to protect my idea?

I have a winning idea for a strategy game. I want to hire someone to make it into an app. Should I apply for a patent, or use non disclosure agreements? If I'm understanding the law correctly, it seems I have to have a working prototype to get a patent, which I don't have. It also seems as though I would have to pay to have a non disclosure agreement printed up. Also, it seems I would have to mail the non disclosure agreement to them, and have them mail it back before we begin work.

Is my understanding of patents and non disclosure agreements correct? What's the easiest way to protect my idea?
