Congrats OP, kinda similar to you with upper/middle class parents. I got fired from a few jobs and I happened to interview somewhere and a VP recognized my last name and called my dad (his former boss) and asked if I was his son. My dad asked if I really wanted the job and I said yes so he mentioned to the VP that I would be loyal and extremely hardworking. It pays 137k so I better not fuck this up lol, I've been working 2 months and feel pretty secure though.
