Let me tell you about *my* mother. Not OP, just to be clear.

>it was just a convenient way for my mom to fuck with me
>and to have a permanent excuse for refusing to get pets

There's plenty more where that came from. Like the time when I was 12 that she threw me out of the house for the summer and told me she was never letting me back, or all the years she'd hit and kick me whenever she had a bad day at work.

Anyway, this is probably why I've never had a successful relationship.
