This is kind of bullshit in a different way. The first thing companies do to reduce headcount is reqiure all remote employees to come back to the office. HR: Oh no, can't make it to the office? Boo hoo. Guess we'll just have to shitcan you with no UI, no severance, nothing. ITS THE EASIEST AND MOST RISK FREE WAY OF CUTTING HEADCOUNT.

Damn, I can see why McKinsey, BCG, etc, get paid the big bucks. Get paid $5k / week retainers for consultants to give them the worst possible advice.
