The devs say they've had swaps stable and working from "heavy" wallets for awhile now. Since then, they've been working to make them work from light wallets so no one has to download the full blockchain of every coin they want to swap between.
It doesn't seem like it will be too long.

Lightning has had a few exploits and vulnerabilities, so I can't say it's foolproof for sure. None of them have affected Stakenet in any way. Lightning Labs seems to be playing cat and mouse trying to patch new bugs as they show up. On the other hand, Bitcoin and Litecoin bet their futures on it. If it does indeed fail, the effect will be like an earthquake throughout the whole crypto space
