Monero has also improved upon the scaling downsides of current popular cryptos. To avoid high fees, dynamic block size ensures that the size of the blocks will increase as the amount of txs increases. Further, the mining network algorithm RandomX establishes that anybody with a CPU can participate in mining, preventing the ASIC miner domination that creates a high barrier of entry. Lastly, the mining network will be preserved by Tail Emission -- instead of the block reward falling to zero like with Bitcoin, the block reward will gradually approach 0.6 XMR in May 2022, where it will forever stay. This constant linear inflation means the inflation rate will asymptotically go to zero while continuing to provide an incentive to miners to maintain the network.

I've been dirt poor all my life and now have $20k AUD in savings. What should I invest in, and how much should I keep liquid? I was thinking $1500 in BTC, $500 in ETH, $500 in Monero, then $2000 spread across various new coins such as SynLev etc in case of moon. This would be a total of $4500 invested.

It's been a tough month for the BTC ratio. As Bitcoin nears it's peak, Monero has been hit hard. The weak hands are being shaken as is apparent with the concern FUDing over the past week from moonboys looking for a quick profit. But the smart money knows that this retouching of the BTC ratio trendlines is a perfect opportunity to do some stacking.
Fundamentally, Monero is ironically having a very strong month. Use case on the darknet continues an uptrend, as Monero has seen 5 days in the last month with daily transactions exceeding 20k (prior to 10/12, Monero had never broken 20k in it's seven year history). The implementation of CLSAG was also a success, which decreased transaction size by ~20%. We also have a fully funded Atomic Swap implementation that is already being worked on, and should be done by Q2 2021.

I really like that transactions chart. This is something that I have been bringing up constantly. Cryptocurrency needs actual adoption. Every other crypto has turned into a pyramid scheme and people have forgotten what the goal was in the beginning. We need digital cash. So as our transactions increase and as the inflation lowers we will eventually hit a breaking point where demand will be higher than supply, and at that point we will hit a major bull run.

This was a pretty incredible week for monero's adoption on the dark net. Although we didn't break the transaction record, we posted three amounts (15.8k, 16k, 16.2k) higher than our second highest transactions amount of (15.7k), and we certainly had our highest week transaction total on record. This proves what we've been saying all along -- people actually USE MONERO, and don't treat it just like a pyramid scheme. We are still a long ways off from where we should be, but adoption is indeed growing.
Other big news: CLSAG coming next week (scaling update, will make tx sizes 20% smaller), the Version 0.17 CLI wallet was released, and Kraken (a known supporter of Monero) has received approval to become America's first banking charter. Gee, it's as if the "privacy coins will be banned" FUD gets more and more blown the fuck out by the day.
