I'm a mega EOS bull but I expect it to go the other way around. We won't see anything close to 1,000+ dapps launching on June 1. There just aren't enough on the testnet now nor listed on eosindex. However I think this is mostly due to the real benefits that EOS offers going unnoticed. People forget about Dan Larimer's other successful projects and what they're capable of doing. There's been some FUD surrounding EOS that probably shy people away. I think it will be a gradual increase in projects as new and existing projects start realizing what EOS can do. At some point it will accelerate to such a degree I imagine we'll see practically every erc20 token port over in some form. EOS is such a fucking sleeper and there are so many possibilities.

I spent time earlier this evening writing up a full unironic explanation of why EOS will be a great hold for the future based on the history of Dan Larimer. I wanted to spur discussion but it only received one comment.

Dan has quite a history in the bitcoin/blockchain ecosystem. He is a developer who first came across bitcoin when looking for a free market based sound money in 2009. He dove in head first after reading the white paper and even communicated/debated with Satoshi.

Dan noticed that centralized exchanges were the weak point in the crypto community. His fix to this was creating the decentralized exchange Bitshares in 2013. Bitshares was a radically new concept at the time, as it promised to be the highest throughput blockchain with zero fees for the end user to pay. This was made possible by using the delegated proof-of-stake (DPoS) consensus algorithm that Dan also invented.

Once Bitshares was able to operate on its own, Dan moved on to his next venture in 2016, Steemit. Steemit is a popular decentralized social media platform where users can interact through a Reddit/Medium like user interface. Steemit users receive Steem tokens for creating and sharing content. Steemit also leveraged Dan’s Graphene technology as well as DPoS consensus algo.
