I figured out yesterday that if you put half of your money in what you think is the most reliable currency and the other half in the second most reliable you cannot lose literally any money from currency desynchronization because every single cent you lose in the one currency you gain in the other. Your money stays in perpetual equilibrium

Why does monerod use one core only? The sync takes a long time, even on a SSD. I feel it would be faster is the daemon would use more CPU cores.

Why are jobs allowed to pay less than $20 (USD) an hour minimum?

EUR/USD Put Options?

Was thinking of picking up some 12 month put options on EUR/USD futures. 1.07 puts are currently at .004 which would mean over a 15x if the euro and dollar end up equal. Anybody ever tried something like this?

What got me thinking about it is what happens if another country votes to leave the EU this year. Feels like its bound to happen. The question is how far they let the EURO drop before they freeze the markets and lock in an exchange rate in the case of redenomination to individual currencies.
