Hello friends, my father and I are pooling our funds into crypto, I'm putting 4k and him 10k. We don't have any delusions of grandeur and we fully understand the risk, we'd just like to afford superbikes or a luxury boat to travel the world someday. We're basically working class so this is "savings" for us. to be honest I plan on holding long term but he might want to cash out for his prize so it might be a short term thing.

He thinks BTC and ETH are goto but personally I'm convinced GRT, FTM, LINK 25/25/50 split should be nice.

would love to hear what you guys think, also have you heard about LGCY? let me know. it might be balsy of me but its a risk I'm willing to put some my into.

Hi, and welcome to the crypto space!

I'm with your father personally, but you can never be certain.

As much as people will shout me down for it, we need to accept that crypto is about speculation. There's no value behind the currency other than the assumption of future value, brought by others investing in it too.

On that basis, my view is the bigger players are safer (all high risk, but lower than the newbies). BTC may lose money but isn't likely to crash 50% overnight, random coins have less value and therefore could easily drop out of fashion

Listen to your father but add XMR to that.

Wait until there's a major dip. Download blockfolio, add the top coins, and add any coins you hear about often on /biz/. Wait until a day when they're all in the red, deep in the red. Wait until the second or third day until they're red as fuck and everyone on /biz/ is seething. THEN put in. Too many noobs bet on green and get fucked. I wouldn't have said this but you seem to have involved family in this and that's going to be sad when you fuck over another person. My dad got into the stock market because of my success in crypto, and got fucked. He wouldn't speak to me for weeks, a good portion of his life savings and my inheritance gone and I guess he partially blames me. I told him 95% of people who get into stocks lose money. I would say it's around 70% of people who get into crypto, since there's not really any hedge funds, just whales and scamcoins but those are easier to not get fucked by.

>What is Litecoin?
https://litecoin.org/

Litecoin (LTC) is an open source peer-to-peer Internet currency that enables instant, near-zero cost payments to anyone in the world. With substantial industry support, trade volume and liquidity, Litecoin is a proven medium of commerce complementary to Bitcoin (BTC)

>How is Litecoin different to Bitcoin?
https://litecoin.info/index.php/Comparison_between_Litecoin_and_Bitcoin

One way to view Litecoin is as silver to Bitcoin's gold, in that it is a relatively less valuable cryptocurrency that is easier to obtain and transact with

Litecoin uses scrypt instead of SHA256 for proof of work
Total amount of LTC is 4 times the total amount of BTC
Transactions are 4 times faster than with Bitcoin

>Why invest in Litecoin?
https://litecoin-foundation.org/the-case-for-litecoin/

Litecoin, one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, has proven itself a reliable and secure money with the advantages of name-recognition and high liquidity (available on almost all exchanges), consistently ranking in the top 4 in trading volume. It’s also the second most available coin in cryptocurrency ATM’s. Bitcoin continues to be the ‘gold standard’, but Litecoin has proven itself the silver to Bitcoin’s gold. According to Coinbase’s metrics, Litecoin’s price is 98% correlated to Bitcoin’s

Sorry to hear that. It sucks to sell on a low. Whilst I'd usually say to be careful buying crypto unless you can afford to lose it, we've managed to win over a lot of media that are desperate for a story other than Covid to run with!

That means there are more newbies coming into the crypto space, and BTC will benefit from that. It's a pump and dump market though, so be careful not to be limited to a fixed window to get a return, as it's all about what the big players want the market to be doing.

Both nftx & Opensea founders are bullish on it

First ever cross-asset swaps, making NFT’s liquid

Wrap your NFT’s, trade them for ERC-20 tokens or other NFT’s

This should be at least a 500m cap project

Imagine buying XRP. It must be so, so incredibly sad. You normies think you're going to hit 2k but that's not happening, no. You sit in these threads defending a shit coin that, believe me, will get you simps NOWHERE!

It's OVER! How does it feel RippleNet fans to be part of the LOSERS club, It must be so, so incredibly sad. When you really take a deep dive into XRP and analyze the framework, partners, and CTO, folks it is quite clear that XRP is going to be the biggest BLUNDER in all of crypto, believe me. It looks like David needed more time in the OVEN.

You lazy millennial bag holders think you're going to make it sitting around in your mums basement holding some shitcoins, but you WONT. I tried to warn you but you guys just wouldn't listen, no, instead you were to busy going "2K EOY! 2K EOY! 2K EOY! WAGMI!" and doing stupid silly crap like that, that believe me, will get you simps NOWHERE.
