So I did some lurking the Cornell university website and found this

>A complementary technology Juels’ group has developed, Town Crier, aids in getting information securely to blockchains and smart contracts. “To do anything interesting, smart contracts need to get data about what’s going on in the real world,” Juels says. “As the most basic financial instrument—say one that pays out if a stock rises to a particular price—the contract needs to know the price of the stock. But getting trustworthy data to blockchains turns out to be tricky.”

Juels and his team have found a way using new trusted hardware from Intel. Town Crier is already safely transferring data to a public blockchain, Ethereum, as a community service. “It’s also a technology we’re in the process of licensing,” Juels says.

Entrepreneurial ambition is a big part of what lured Juels to Cornell Tech. “IC3 looks in general to ensure that its technologies are impactful, and one way of doing that is through entrepreneurship,” Juels says. “Our aim is to commercialize a number of the technologies we’re working on. I’m particularly interested in doing work with short- to medium-term real-world impact, and that’s what the ethos of this place is all about.”

Can someone link to the original post?

I sometimes wonder if the continued lack of awareness (in part, due to the fact everything gets downvoted on others subs so people "can accumulate) means that some projects never get to hear of ChainLink and therefore never implement it.

Of course, in the ideal world, a marketing guy would be out there contacting all these potentials partners/clients, but that's not happened yet.

It would be nice if sometimes we could actually support ChainLink's growth by helping to build awareness. I'm not sure how productive it is for everyone to be trying to keep it a secret.

I know this will probably be countered with SWIFT, AXA, Sony, andall other speculative partners, but I can't see much harm coming from other smaller, newer, projects implementing ChainLink. This is especially true when it is in its infancy and quick detection and resolution defects makes for a better product for the big names.

Just got back from holiday. WTF. Why has chainlink dropped so much in price? I'm seeing articles about this Jason Parser and the shadow fork? Can someone fill me, I took out a loan and maxed my credit cards for this....what the heck is going on.
