This is why I'm selling my condo in the big city, moving far away to a small city of 200,000, and dumping all of my money into more rental properties. I wasted my 20s working my ass off at stupid startups that largely went belly up. I thought, "some day I'll start my own tech startup and then I won't have to wagecuck anymore". Turns out that that vast, vast majority of startups are fucking retarded and dead on arrival. Plus, my passion for programming has pretty much died over the past couple years. I'm only in this industry for the salary now.

It took me until I was nearly 30 to realize that there are other ways to leverage my high income in order to escape wagecuckery. I don't need to start a startup. I don't need to come up with a novel business idea. I don't need to change the world. I just need to buy assets that generate income.

I feel stupid for wasting so much time, but at least I have a crystal clear picture of my financial strategy going forward. I'm going to live for free in a duplex or multi-family, buy at least two or three single family home rental properties a year, and live as frugally as possible. My plan is to retire by 35.
