I've been using Brave since ~January and the new version of the Browser that just came out, coupled with Brave Ad Beta (I got to do the Brave Ads trial with it) on my Mac... let's just say this shit is going places.

Once people adopt the Brave browser, they're going to be using cryptocurrency without even realizing they're using it. They'll be able to purchase, earn, sell, and donate it seamlessly without even knowing shit about blockchain or crypto.

This shit could be huge within 2-3 years.

They have to purchase advertising campaigns by buying the token. They pay for advertising using USD (I'm assuming Brave will set prices in USD) and that fiat is used to buy BAT which funds the campaign. That's how I understand it. A certain % of that BAT goes to Brave and a % goes to the users watching the ads, which is then in theory used to support content creators, etc.

That's my understanding. Advertisers don't directly buy the token but the fiat they use to pay for their ad campaign is used to buy BAT which is distributed in the BAT ecosystem. I can't speak to your other FUD but you can post on the BAT project subreddit and get it dispelled, if you really want to.

I'm all in on BAT so if BAT is introduced on Coinbase, then I can cash out easier. I don't plan on cashing out until 2019 but more likely 2020+.

So to make things clear:

1. Brave automatically blocks ads.
2. If you want to view ads for BAT, you have the option of doing so.
3. Even if you choose to do so, you don't have to watch the ads, only the ones that you find relevant.
4. You receive a cut of the money that would otherwise be going to Google/Facebook/etc.
5. If you don't use Brave and BAT, you're losing out on free money in order to be treated like a sheep and targeted by online conglomerates who harvest your personal data in order to shill you advertising and control what you see on the internet.

I really like the whole BAT/Brave idea so I don't feel as bad about things. I use Brave constantly and will continue to use it as it improves. Things always seem to slow down when we hit these rough patches where BAT plummets to like $.15 but when it pushes 30 cents things seem super optimistic again.
