Chainlink lets companies make super-secure contracts with one another. It does this by using data that can't be hacked or cheated easily, so they know whenever they look at their signed contracts, they know they're truly signed (you do know that companies make contracts with one another, right?). Finally, those contracts don't have to rely on a single company to make sure that the contract was fulfilled. For example, say a client screws over an artist, and that this violates the contract. Instead of relying on a company or the court system to solve who gets what and how, the process is all left up to the smart contract, which controls the collateral of, and insures, both parties.
