I think they'll both be good choices (as far as crypto investing goes) in the long run, but for the moment LINK is vaporware with no actual use case.

LINK is aiming to have an absolutely huge impact in the future, but it might take a long time before this materializes and it might never even materialize. It's all up to Sergey.

BAT could be huge too, and also has a product (Brave) behind it and an insanely competent team. LINK has potential to be worth more than BAT I think but also has more potential to be a long drawn out exit-scam of a token.

I know a lot of discord pajeets post shit like "I WISH I HAD MORE ___"

but literally my only qualm with BAT is that I don't have enough to make it. I have 11K and I sincerely wish I had more fiat to put into BAT, especially while it's below 50 cents. I guess I'll just have to be more patient but damn, I'd be super comfy with like 50k-100k BAT. Those BATboys will make it.

The top 100 holders collectively own 79.77% (1,196,536,257.18 Tokens) of BAT. 1.5 Billion MAX supply and a 100 addresses, probably less people, own 1.2 BILLION? Fucking chink VeChain had better distribution than this.

Ok - here's the thing. I don't think Brendan or Brave will really help you all that much.

That being said, this token allows us to build off of it. I guarantee if you build a website or a game or whatever and incorporate BAT somehow, you will get the community behind you and will make money in BAT. That's undeniable.

That's why I think there's a future in BAT. It allows people to monetize creativity and incentives online content creation and development. Giving money (in the form of cryptocurrency) has literally never been easier, than it is through BAT. That's a fact.

keep in mind almost literally every other crypto is vaporware with like 6 man teams that do local speeches in basements shilling their coin to teenagers and college kids. Brave is the real deal and is underrated as fuck on this board.

>Can you moon boys get the number right?

https://brave.com/2018-highlights/

Latest number is 5.5 million monthly active users. Keep in mind numbers go up, anon. So they're not going to stay the same.

>normies have jobs and they don’t give a shit about making a few pennies every month to watch ads

I think a lot of /biz/ people bring this point up and it boggles my mind how small-minded you are. Almost everyone in the entire world uses the internet. Nobody is quitting their job to make a living off of viewing ads.

But the VAST MAJORITY of internet users are viewing ads anyways, whether they like it or not. Brave will allow users to get a cut of the share. So it's like this:

>I will continue using the internet and allow companies to profit off of me, meanwhile I get $0
alternatively,
>I will continue using the internet and forbid companies from taking my personal information, and in the meantime I will get my own cut of the advertising revenue

I think the answer is pretty clear there. Brendan Eich mentioned that could be as high as $300 a year in the first few years. You're not going to be sitting in a room watching ads on repeat to earn money. You're going to be surfing the internet, exactly as you would do anyways, and occasionally you can decide whether or not to view an Advertisement and earn some BAT.

As usual, most FUD comes from ignorance

That's the thing, these companies cannot pivot to introduce the BAT model. It would go against their fiduciary duty to shareholders, there would be lawsuits, and let's face it, there's no way the Board of Directors would ever approve of Brave/BAT's model.

Brave can bring forward this new model because it owes nothing to nobody. It's essentially VC/crowd-funded. Brave will take its time with its model and make a long-term play on the advertising market.

It may get adopted mainstream, it may not. But I think there is little to zero chance an established company like Facebook or Google could EVER make the same play that Brave is making with regard to cryptocurrency use and advertising/online spending.

Brave/BAT have first-mover advantage.

Loads of reasons, I should really write a copy + paste answer for this because it gets asked so often. Honestly I think the number 1 reason is this:

Brave has a huge fund of BAT that it gives away with every update to the browser. Since January 2018 I've received over 200 BAT (~$26) from Brave. That's free BAT given to me for simply using the browser. They could NEVER do this with ETH or BTC. So basically Brave was given a bunch of VC money, and a portion of that went into buying/holding BAT that they're slowly releasing to users in order to get the project running.

The BAT given to users can only be donated, can't be sent to your own wallet. But the point is, the advertiser-producer-user ecosystem never could happen with ETH.

TLDR; if you don't understand why ETH couldn't be used, you don't really understand the Brave project.

BAT has slowly but surely been climbing the ladder.

When I bought BAT it was 60+. Now it's 34. LINK passing it is depressing, but BAT faces a LOT more opposition than LINK. BAT is potentially shutting down/cutting into tons of different industries, while LINK is vaporware with almost no competition.

I'll probably but some LINK because I don't want to miss out on another TRON, but long term I think BAT's the better bet. I've been using Brave for an entire year and will never go back.
