when youre investing do you pull out when you see a profit and buy back in or just let it ride?

i bought my first $1000 in stocks just to see what its like and every time my portfolio goes up 50 dollars i think about pulling out and then i dont and then the next time it looked it just crashed back to fucking 0 or even lower. if i pulled out my portfolio every time i felt like i should have i would be up already 20% in a couple weeks but instead ive been crabbing for months and id probably have a lower average buy price too.

money does buy happiness. i run an online "business" and on days i dont make money and its all for nothing im miserable. my eyes burn, i feel tired, i dont wanna do anything or try anymore, i hate life in every way, even drugs dont make me happy and i just feel more miserable but when i make money im happier, i work harder, i feel more motivated.
